As many of you know, Prize Giving is usually an exclusive event, limited by the size of our Queen’s Hall and open only to the prize winners and their families. This year, however, our virtual Prize Giving will go live via a link on the School’s website (www.rgshw.com) at 7.30pm and will be accessible to everyone in the School community. Highlights of the event will also be available on Instagram, RGS High Wycombe, which we are launching to celebrate the event. There will be no access before RGS opens its Prize Giving doors at 7.30pm!

PRIZE GIVING 2020

Virtual Prize Giving will follow a similar format to the usual physical event. Besides a welcome from the Chair of Governors, there will be an address by the Headmaster, in which he will reflect on the successes of our students over the past year, and then speeches by two guest speakers. The first, Tom Rees, is an OW who enjoyed a distinguished career as a professional rugby player for Wasps and England before training as a doctor. Tom now works on the NHS frontline at Basingstoke Hospital and will be giving us his perspective on his work over the past few months. The second is the Associate Editor of the Daily Telegraph newspaper Camilla Tominey, whose experience as a journalist and broadcaster includes covering Royal and political events for number of national and international news outlets. In addition to this, there will be music, chosen by our outgoing Director of Music, Tim Venvell, and the traditional Vote of Thanks delivered by our newly-appointed Head Boy.

The full roll of prize winners from Year 7 – 13 will be available between 7.30pm and 10.30pm. In accordance with GDPR regulations, the prize winners will then be removed from the site and the rest of the content will remain on the website.

As we near the end of a challenging but rewarding year I do hope you will take this opportunity to celebrate not only our prize winners, but also the success and resilience of the School as a community.

We look forward to ‘seeing’ you tonight.
