Yesterday was the showpiece of schools’ rugby in England, an opportunity to celebrate the whole of the Game, and why we believe it is the ultimate team sport. The values of rugby, teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship is what has led this talented 1st XV to the final.

A piece of Schools’ rugby history ...
The Under 15s have won the Cup an unprecedented three times in succession between 1996 – 1998. The first hat-trick in the Under 15 Cup since the tournament began in 1988. They also won in 2011.
RGS was also the first school to produce finalists in both competitions, with the Under 18s runners up twice in 1998 & 1999.
In 1998, no less than four sets of brothers played for the School. Brothers-in-arms for RGS: Simon and Adam Gilbert; Simon and Nick Duncombe; Mark and Matthew Honeyben; and the Whitehouse twins, Tom and Ben.
