It is with great sadness that we are writing to advise you of the passing of a former RGS student, Benjamin Garrow. Ben passed away on September 17th last year from cancer, aged 39 years, and just 6 weeks from his 40th birthday. Ben was diagnosed with cancer in August 2019. All of his family were with him during his last 3 months in Australia.
Ben was the eldest of three Garrow boys, all of whom attended RGS, and all of whom played first XV rugby for the School. Ben attended RGS between 1993 and 1999. As well as his rugby he was also a very proud member of the School’s Cadet Force, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer in the RAF section.
On completing his studies at RGS, Ben then went back to Australia initially to study at Macquarie University in Sydney, followed a few years later by being employed in Marketing at Hills Petfoods, a Division of Colgate.
